Mitiz's Favorite Christmas Elf....

This is Mitzi's newest project. Every time she looked at his grumpy face she couldn't help but laugh! She was working on it in the kitchen and throughout the whole house you could hear her cracking up as she tried different hats on him. It was just like Santa's workshop between Embelina playing Christmas carols and Mitzi spreading Christmas cheer.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

There are no words to describe this post....

CHRISTMAS PINEAPPLE.

That is all.
Embelina decided to see how long it would take Mitzi and Dad to notice....it didn't take them too long. Then we ate it.

Santa's Elves

We have been trying to make 2011 a homemade Christmas this year. It has been very challenging, more meaningful, and way more fun! Except for the fact that we can't post what we're up to for fear of the intended person to see it. This gift, however, has already been given to our first nephew Max, so its okay to show you now. Bodecia made it for him. Can you see the owls in the pattern?

Isn't he adorable?! At first he wasn't too sure about it, but he soon decided he liked it. More importantly, his mother LOVED it. He's just so cute!

First Christmas

Every year for Christmas everyone gets a new ornament. Which is why our tree is such a hodge-podge of eye spyness. This year, being Max's first Christmas, Mitzi made him this hand-soldered ornament. Doesn't that smile just light up the whole tree?!

Here Max is listening to Grandpa read him Christmas stories.

Thinking of Summer

I miss summer. I also miss one of my favorite flowers. Sunflowers are so huge and bright and gorgeous! Today I thought I'd try my hand at painting them. I'm also capturing images of things through my camera, but I thought I'd try doing it in a new way...

I have so much more respect for painters, sketchers, and artists now. Painting is difficult! If you have never tried I highly recommend it. Everything else floats away when you're holding a paintbrush.

Getting in the Mood

Christmas is just around the corner! Not to freak any of you out, but it is only 23 days till Christmas. Which means that times time to start celebrating! All the things we do at this time of year are all just symbols of something greater. We make memories by making cookies together. We show our families how much we love them by giving them gifts. We become a people who demonstrates gratitude by showing thankfulness to our friends (you know, the ones who gave us the gifts), and to our God for coming here in the form of a weak and helpless baby in order to become our Savior. That's the real reason for this joyful season.

We wish you all the best as you prepare for this holiday season. May your hearts, souls, and thoughts be always Christ centered as you make memories, give love, and be thankful.

"For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Isaiah 9:6

Much love, FiveSistersCo

3rd Annual Holiday Extravaganza 2011

This is an annual craft show my neighbor Bridal Blush hosts every year. We had a blast! Lots of great friends, food, and vendors. Here is our lovely booth set up for the day. My co-vendor Embelina and our ticket man Jack were a big help!

Here are some of Mitzi's handmade and vintage necklaces:

Let's Get Cooking!

I'll admit it; I am not a cook.
Nor am I a baker, or a chef, or a person-who-likes-to-be-in-the-kitchen-in-general. However with these aprons, I might just reconsider. These are the latest apron designs by Stacella and her SassyGirl Aprons. Whether you are baking, cooking, cleaning, or even gardening, these will help you do it. We have vintage, "WorkerGirl", and Sassygirl aprons for all your cooking and party apron needs.

Living Life

Well, its been a couple months since the last post, but we are back and here to stay! Here are some of the things we've been up to over the summer:

Stacella has been working at her internship all summer, making clothes and designing patterns

Bodecia has been knitting and crafting her fingers off (like always)

Mitzi has been taking it easy and recovering from an illness discovered over the summer, but is looking forward to being back and up to speed in no time.

Liv has been doing her thing, which you can check out over at Liv in the Moment Photography

We've been living life and not blogging...which is about to change into living life AND blogging! Lots of updates to come!

So I thought I'd share with you my latest project! In case you don't know, I love duct tape. A lot. It comes in so many different colors, and the possibilies with duct tape are endless! Prom dresses, bags, costumes, babysitting helper, insta-fix, flowers, you think of it and then you can usually do it!

Now my other love is Doctor Who ("Cause bow ties are cool." thats why). So I thought I'd combine them both and make this AWESOME wallet! Check it out:

What more trustworthy of a place to hold your money, than in the TARDIS?!
Any Ood would be proud to own this wallet.

Showcasing my most recent endeavor.....

An embroidered picture!

Based off of a picture of my friend and I on a trip, I made this little pillow/door knob hanger out of felt, embroidery, and magic.

Monkey Princess

This is a Monkey Princess.

This is also a Monkey Princess.

 This Monkey Princess....

Was made for this Monkey Princess....

I love making custom stuffed toys, so when my friend asked me to make a "Monkey Princess" doll for her daughter who goes by that nickname, I was very excited. It took my only a week to complete and I am so pleased with the result! I think it might be one of the cutest things I have ever made. This like all of my projects is my own pattern and I think I got the proportions just right. I also really like the look of firmly stuffed, tight single crochet in cotton. It gives it a very smooth, round, look that I am in love with. The face is wool felt and the tiara is some sparkley thread. She even has little pink socks that stay on her feet just like the real Monkey Princess!

The Pounding

Sounds like some kind of scary movie doesn't it? Well its not. Not exactly, unless you can't stand loud, repetitive, clashes. Then leave right now, because Mom was having too much fun flattening spoons, forks, and knives on the new anvil she got from Daddy for Mother's Day.

They looked pretty cool when she was finished with them.

On some of them she stamped out herb names such as Basil and Sage, to sell at the upcoming Local Women's Expo.

I have to admit though, we were all very happy when she decided to give her arms a break and come inside again.

Hehe love you Mom <3
